It turns out that Age UK – which is a charity to help us old people, right? – is inviting us to take out equity release with the help of its ‘Age Co UK Equity Release Advice Service’, provided by Hub Financial Solutions Ltd.
Hub is owned by Just Group. Of course the profits (that’s profits, not revenue)from Age Co UK go to charities helping older people. But you have to ask whether the best way to help our expanding senior population is to get some pensioners to fund the pensions of other pensioners.
